heavy barrel .22 bolt action

Re: heavy barrel .22 bolt action

avd,
First is this for you or a youth?
Are you looking for semi-auto, bolt action, single shot, detachable magazine, tube magazine? Grooved receiver or one that you can screw a base to? Synthetic or wood stock? Adjustable trigger? Are you concerned about the amount of after market parts/upgrades available? Are you looking for something threaded to accept a supressor?
Savage, CZ, Marlin, Ruger and several others all offer heavy barreled rifles to help narrow it down think about what features you want for the application you are wanting it for. The Ruger 10/22 has probably the biggest amount of options available. I have a couple 10/22's, Marlin 880SQ, Savage MK II, Marlin Model 60, and a Winchester 52 all of which have their advantages and disadvantages.

Re: heavy barrel .22 bolt action

Bolt action preferable. No semi auto because i want to be able to shoot cb caps and the likes. A single shot like a tc would be okay, however i would prefer a magazine. It doesnt matter if it is a tube or a detachable mag (as long as it will feed the mentioned bullets).

I want it small to fit my wife-she does better with youth size guns. I have also been known to sit in the attic hunting varmits and short is good for that as well.

Synthetic or wood is good. I do like a nice looking wood stock.

An adjustable trigger would be nice.

I have a marlin 25. If the stock was an inch or two shorter and the barrel was 17 or 18 inches, it would be almost perfect. And i just like the weight and look of a heavy barrell.

Thanks for the help.
