I recently got my TRG and a NF 12-42x56 nxs. After some recommendations, I looked into the near bases and seekins rings and am sold on that setup. My question is this. I want to get a 5.5-22x56 NF as the 12-42 is a bit much on power and not enough MOA adjustment. Until I get the 5.5-22 I would like to do some shooting. What would be the correct height seekins rings for the 5.5-22x56 on my rifle? Also, will the same rings work for the 12-42x56 for the time being? I would like to avoid buying two sets of rings. Also, will a 0 MOA near base be correct for the 5.5-22 and still have the ability to reach 1k or do I need to get a 10 or 25 MOA tapper? Looking to make My purchases soon so want to be sure I do it right the first time.

Also, whats the best place to purchase seekins rings?

Re: Height for rings on my TRG W/NF

On my TRG42 with a 25 MOA Near base I am using the seekins high rings (.97") for my 5.5-25x56 Premier. I have about a 1/4" of clearance:

If I was to do it again I would prolly go with lows (.92"). Since your tube is a 30mm instead of a 34mm, I would imagine that you would be able to get away with medium rings. Then again I have a great (for me) check weld with the highs.
