Hell of a deal on a double rifle case

Re: Hell of a deal on a double rifle case

Been looking at something along that line. Thanks for the post!

Re: Hell of a deal on a double rifle case

Must Resist... I've been looking for a new hard case and this one looks like it will fit the bill perfectly

Re: Hell of a deal on a double rifle case

Oh wow that is PERFECT! I've used SKB's 3I cases and also have a few of these at work, they really do hold up. I think I've found what I need, thanks!

Re: Hell of a deal on a double rifle case

I would be interested to know one thing though. Because it is two sided with a foam divider, would you still be able to make cutouts like a Pelican and then use the divider?

Re: Hell of a deal on a double rifle case

its a good case. i have an older version (different locks)
its built tough. heavy yes, but lighter than my pelican. If
had to do it all over again and my needs were the same I would buy it.

* and no, it isnt the type of case you should cut or modify the foam

As the previous poster said, this is egg crate type foam and not the type you'd cut. If you're worrying about movement, though, there is no need to cut the foam for a snug fit. I traveled from San Francisco to Denver, then Denver to Casper, WY, via air and then tossed the case in the back of a truck for a 100+ mile drive west. When I opened the case the two rifles (a scoped GAP Rock in AICS and a scoped Sig SHR 970) hadn't budged a bit and all the ammo, knives and other hunting gear I had stashed along the sides was still in the exact place that I put it. Definitely a heavy case, but it has good padded handles and solid wheels. And despite the airlines' best efforts, no damage to the case.

Here's a picture of the case loaded with the gear.

Re: Hell of a deal on a double rifle case

I just noticed this case is $259.99 direct from SKB. Nice find.

Re: Hell of a deal on a double rifle case

I finally just went ahead and bought it. Everything I have read says this is a top notch case

Re: Hell of a deal on a double rifle case

I'd like to keep the support gear in the same case. I just picked up a brand new Pelican 1750 on eBay, shipped for $175 with foam.
