I am proud of them and proud to live in a country where people get to speak out against what the perceive as wrong even if others disagree.

Always good to see USA win on a national level, and being a part of a dynasty is enjoyable as well. That was domination, from an absolute curb stomping of Thailand to hosting the trophy without ever being lead.

I also heard that one of the mouthy lesbians threw her small flag to the ground and it was picked up by another player. If so I guess you are glad they have the right to do that as well.

I’m glad they live in a country where they aren’t executed for doing it. The worst they have to deal with is “outrage” by people on social media.

Yes, I am still proud to live in a free country where people are not jailed for dropping a flag. I understand you “heard” she threw it on the ground, but if you watch the video, she was holding it(in a manner I wouldn’t for sure) then was directed to do something for cameras, at first attempted to spread it on the ground and then dropped it when urged to look into the cameras and someone else on the team grabbed it. When they did that she quickly helped give it to the other player.

Perhaps we could speak with them about common flag etiquette, and the best way to go about that situation that will likely repeat itself as they continue to dominate on the world stage. That seems like a sensible response to a poorly executed situation.

Are there other tests for how free I like my country you would like to propose?

The difference is something you will not see. If the left says F the president, they become famous, get a red carpet tour of DC and Hollywood, get prime time coverage with Anderson Cooper etc. If the right acts equally reprehensibly, they are ruined for life. Lose jobs, professional licenses, employability income etc. If you cannot see it you are a leftist as well.

If socialism is so great where is the caravan to Venezuela?

Megan Rapinoe or whatever her name is isn't being shit on here for being a dyke. She's being shit on for being a disrespectful cunt to the country that the flag represents (primarily) and to the office of the President (secondarily). Not only that, she's also being shit on for having the gall to disrespect her country while at the same time demanding the same respect and pay that men players get.

She has repeatedly failed to provide any evidence to back up her claims that the Trump administration or President Trump himself hates women or homosexuals. Guess what you virtue signaling dipshits: the fact that you say something is true doesn't make it so and you will run into people who will call you out publicly for it.

She's a fucking disgrace and whatever skill she may have as the player of a kid's game is completely irrelevant.

Male athletes say/do something and get yelled at by random dudes online. Female athletes say/do something and get yelled at by random dudes online. The only difference is that females get paid less. One thing the have in common is that they’ve accomplished more in life than the ones who take the energy to get upset at their actions/speech.

A lot of vets like to drop the “I’m a veteran card” but then get pissed at athletes/celebrities for using their status to convey their message. It’s the same thing but only no one calls out vets for using their position to spread their opinion. I’m a vet and I don’t care what athletes or other vets say or do to share their opinion. Same with companies. ...because it is their right to do so.

The great thing about our country is that you can speak out about your govt and the state of your country without having your entire family killed. Everyone’s level of patriotism varies and that is one of the freedoms we enjoy.

Someone previously brought up how it’s a flag that people have died for. It is. Nothing any of these athletes are doing or have done takes away from that freedom or sacrifice. In fact, their actions only solidify how free we are as a nation. It’s the populace that is trying to infringe on the rights of others because it doesn’t meet their own imagined level of required patriotism. That’s just the human factor we have to deal with as Americans, regardless of demographic.

There’s zero reason for someone who plays a game, that kids play in high school, to make millions. You’d see a huge pay drop if fans didn’t pack stadiums, buy out team merch, and buy sports packages from their cable providers.

But that’s the result of the public speaking to the market. It’s just a shame that no one cares (they way they do for sports) about the piss poor education funding in our country. Fuck it though, we gots the sports wooo!

I attended a rural Midwest high school. We did not have a single Div 1 athlete in the schools short history and I doubt they have had one yet. , 40 years later.

The entire school revolved around sports. I was trying to get an education and it was a waste of time. If you could play football, you made good grades. A lot of good minds were wasted. Kids with no hope in sports but they could have done well academically if challenged. Now all they have is bad knees and worse jobs.

I do have to laugh at rural communities who complain there are no jobs, their kids score in the lowest percentiles of all tests, their university placement rate is in single digits, but god damn their HS football team is the shit......
