Hello from Florida

I just found this intro section.

I've lurked here as a non-member sporadically... Joined today.

I got my first "precision" rifle several years ago.... a custom AR-15 built for me by a friend.

I dabbled in precision shooting with it and even entered a few NRA Mid-Range High-Power matches. I'm mostly self-taught at this point. I've read a number of books on the subject, too.

Last Christmas, wifey surprised me with a Ruger Precision Rifle in 6.5CM. I've put around 1600 rounds through it since.

Over the last year I've been going down the "rabbit hole" that is precision and long(er) distance shooting. Man, it's FUN! I love it!

Long distance ranges are few and far between around here. But, I've managed to shoot at 300, 600, and 1,000 yards with the RPR. The 1,000 yard day was a 1-day course.

I've been a member of a few other gun forums, but the precision rifle sections are usually lacking. This one is chock-full of info!

I've also been up to the Port Malabar Pistol & Rifle Club for a few NRA matches. Love the electronic target scoring! But, that's a bit over 2 hours drive. The 1,000-yard range day was at Hollywood Tactical in Okeechobee. Nice range... but again... long drive.
