been shooting all my life mainly just factory guns with a few mods. have reloaded my own ammo for a long time. some buddies and I have been going to south Dakota for several years shooting prairie dogs. decided I wanted to get into longer range shooting so I'm building a 30-338 lapua mag.used a wetherby vanguard action,28.5" shillen stainless barrel, night force 8-32x56 nlr retical scope,all aluminum stock, 4 port muzzle brake with top ports,weighs in at 25 pounds. it is my first rifle build. I have done machinest work most of my life and have a nice machine shop at home. the build is finished just have to get the finishing done on the stock and barreled action.very excited to get it all done and play with it.joined this site in hopes of getting some info on starter loads for this beast.i have some ideas but would like to have some numbers from some of you guys who have one.
