Been out of the long range game for over twenty years and just getting back into it. A lot has changed so right now I'm just learning all the new tips and tricks I can.

In the process of building off of an older 110 long action Savage (300 win mag when done). I'm not a gunsmith and I know my limitations, so I'm getting help from a local friend that was a sniper in the Corp and builds rifles now.

Some times I hit shit, some times I don't, but the smell of burnt powder keeps me coming back for more.

Open to all advice and or opinions.

Welcome. I'm no gunsmith either, but I did the same thing, had the help of a friend (who isn't a real gunsmith either but had all the right tools and has built several rifles). Built my 300 WM from an old Rem 700 action I bought on Gunbroker. Took me over a year from start to finish, turned out to be a sub .5 MOA gun. Maybe I got lucky, who knows... my only bit of advice is take your time and have fun doing it!

I've been slowly putting together what I'd like to do with this build over the past two years and love every second of it.
Thank you for the advice. When it's all done, I'll post some pics, but I expect it to be another six months or so.
