Where it snows
As for my background, I was a infantryman, now finishing up college. While finishing school up, I'm currently working in the gun industry. I'm definitely not saying where I work and I'm not eligible to discuss specifics at all, but I can say I shoot more than anyone would ever want to. (To the point of lead poisoning/severe nerve and muscle pains.)

But to be short, sweet, and simple; I'd just love to learn about the world of precision long ranged marksmanship.

So on a slow day at work you shoot 8 rounds per minute including breaks for eight hours and on a busy day you shoot a round every two seconds for eight hours. That sounds like the total ammo budget for the marines not like something any private company has any one doing. Not, of course that I doubt you, I'm sure that we will all learn how to get a little Frostier from you. How many people did your company hire to load mags for you?

You're looking at this as a training scenario, not a production scenario.
Most rounds fired are to test if a gun will function correctly with the parts provided from a vendor. Certain guns require more break-in (Not that we totally break gun in, that's for the consumer to do!) and certain guns require a lower round count to be broken in.

It can be fun and you do get to improve your precision and accuracy, but it's not a job many people do for life. If you cap out on high lead too often or the strain on your body is too great, you're done. Shoot 500 rounds of 40S&W as fast as you can and randomly target every certain amount of mags or do the same with 7.62 nato and see how you feel.

Not getting into detail with staffing, since I'm not familiar with how other companies do it. But we have machines that load ammo for us. (Not that they are the best; maintenance and breaking down is a constant problem.)

Hi,

Well being your from the New England area...it does not take a rocket scientist to deduce where you could "possibly" work at.
The thing is..nobody really cares except for you. As you keep bringing it up in regards to how secret squirrel it is yet nobody else is bringing it up lol.

(y) you work in the firearms industry. LOTS here do.

Sincerely,
Theis
