hey guys, i've got a couple questions.
first, what all is involved in truing an action? and the bolt?
i've also seen stuff about blueprinting the action?
how about lapping, what get's lapped? do you lap the bolt in the action? or a lapped barrel?

i'm almost certain there's some sort of sticky, but i didn't see anything. bear with me guys.

thanks,
Erik

"Blueprinting" is re-machining to make all of the features nominally correct.

...Truing falls under that umbrella...

Lapping consists of getting the locking lugs on the bolt to get full contact/engagement with the lugs they lock into in the action.

ok, thanks. i've got a solid background in machining, and i've got a lathe that i'm able to hold a .0005 tolerance on, maybe i'll give this a try!

however, it's probably just gonna end up on my "things to do but never get around to" list (kinda like half the stuff the wife asks for)
