Re: Help Cleaning a BAR

What do you need to know? I've had my Bar apart many 'o' times. Cleaning kit - Otis cable system works well for the barrel, the gas system use a 20ga brush and, well the bolt is a pain to get out the first few times you do it. Here's a video of how to get the bolt out. Same gun, different look.

I've got the same rifle and have found the instructions in the manual to be pretty good as far as how to break the rifle down. It takes a little practice, but the only real gotcha I've come across is getting the same pressure on the fore-end stud.

I use Barnes CR-10 for the inside of the barrel and Hoppe's for cleaning everything else. I use gun grease or Remmy gun oil for lubrication.

The bolt is tricky to put back in. You will need to extend it a bit to go in, then collapse it to finish dropping it in the rail.
