Ok, so I am trying to be rational. I bought a suppressor cert because it was such a great deal. Thunderbeast =$800

So here is the dilemma, I currently own a Thunderbeast direct thread 30-p. This was there first full size 300 ultra mag suppressor they made.

I got a free direct thread tactical innovations 5.56 full auto can

and a dedicated 22 can.

So here is my problem, I was going to send in my 30-p to have it upgraded to the CB quick change. The price for the upgrade is 800. I have a Sako 338 Lapua.

I am having a huge dilemma, I have recently bought 4 of the CB breaks and took the time to put them on all the guns I would want to use a suppressor on. If I use the cert to just get the newer version of the 30 caliber line, I will have a direct thread that I probably will never use. If I bought the 338 I would not be able to attach it to my other guns without buying all new breaks, and the 338 break is just simply too large to place on my Ar15's. So one way I get the best deal with the 338 can, the other way I get a suppressor that is updated the way I want, but I will end up with a suppressor (My Original) I will never use.

I am going crazy trying to figure out what the heck to do. I am looking for suggestions to go one way or the other.

Shoot some matches and pick up another 50% or 100% cert and use it to recore your 30P-1; or use the first cert on the recore and a future one on the 338. Or you could use the cert on a brand new Ultra 9 and just leave the 30P one one dedicated gun "forever." Just some ideas.

^^ This. I personally wouldn't upgrade a 30P (I have one) for $800 when a new can in .30 or 6.5 is about $400 more with the stamp. The 338 can works nicely on any 5/8-24 threaded barrel.

Your thread and your dilemma (which isn't that bad) is a good argument for buying a brake mounted can.

I'm guessing your cert is "ANY" TBAC? If so, go with the .338 for the best value and send your 30P in for the re-core, you'll get the newer core and the mounting option you want. You've spent $500 on brakes......... whats $800 more, and it's a "repair" you'll have it back in a week or so and can use it while you wait on your stamp. Just my thoughts (and your money, LOL!)
