This was giving to me, but I'm not exactly sure what it is? it obviously looks like a flash hider/front sight, but from what?

I believe it's for a Ruger Mini-14, I've seen similar ones that have holes instead of the long cuts.

Good find, I was thinking M60 because the mounting block on the bottom looks very similar to the one which mounts to the gas tube and the flash hider itself is identical to the one on the M60 I've shot. I guess in my head I was making it a lot bigger looking than it is.
