Help me find some cool long sleeve T-shirts

I mean cool as in sheds body heat not cool as in stylish. I've found some shirts but I'm reluctant to pull the trigger on buying some T-shirts without knowing how thick and or how hot they're gonna feel in the Texas heat.

The last match I shot I didn't have a light colored long sleeve t-shirt to wear so I just wore a short sleeve. Going prone several times without a mat and getting a significant sun burn on my arms (where I never get them) let me know I needed some light colored long sleeves to wear.

We were given Drifire shirts at the USNSC and USNSSC Competitions the last few years. They are thin, breathable and have worked great for me.

Personally I prefer a long sleeved shirt in Texas heat. It allows the heat to escape unlike a long sleeved T. I know several very sensitive to sun guys who swear by their vented fisherman type shirts, large vents under flaps and underarms.

I like a soft stretch pads for my elbows on hot hard ground. Not the POS tacticool hard plastic ones that slide around on hard ground.

Handsdown, the absolute best, lightest product is called Solumbra by Sunprecautions ( www.sunprecautions.com ). I have worn their long-sleeve athletic "sport" shirt, the one with built in tented meshing (venting) along the underarms and entire mid-torso (as described above). It actually creates a cooling ventilation, and gives an SPF 45 (your typical white Hanes T-shirt is a 5 dry, 3 wet). I can personally attest it is comfortable in 120 degree heat indexes in Texas. Check out the "Ultra-Athlete" shirts on their website.
There are only 3 brands of sunprotective clothing that actually "match" their quoted SPF, those are Sunprecautions, Coolibar, and LLBean. Of these 3, the Sunprecautions is handsdown the lightest & most comfortable IMHO (which is why so many Extreme athletes like Desert Valley Ultramarathon runners wear it). And, if you file taxes long-form, Sunprecautions is actually approved as a medical device that you can declare...

JC, I PM'd ya. I switched phones and your number must have been in the memo pad instead of the contacts. I'll be on duty a station 5 again on Friday. I wear a size Large T-shirt and need another boonie as well.
