I am going to give my Remington model 7 .260 to my son this year for his first deer rifle. So obviously I will need a new one for myself. I am going to stick with the .260 to keep the ammo the same . I am thinking either Tikka hunter or Remington 700 SPS. Looking to the brain trust hear to help me decide Both have 24 inch 1 in 8 twist barrels. Also, how short can I chop the barrel on either of these. I really like the 20 and shorter inch barrels on my hunting rigs. TIA
