Fellas,

Just got some cabela cash in a successful trade with another hide member and looking to get reloading parts/accessories. So I'll list what I need and would like opinions so I can spend my cabela cash well. I have 600 but would like to squeeze every ounce..

1. Brass cleaner . Looking hard at several dry media tumblers that can handle anywhere from 250-500 pieces at a time (more is better). I think in going to stay away from the Lyman 2500 as there are enough reviews on its ability to lick windows and chew on rocks.. Potentially thinking about a sonic cleaner also for the fact that I care about performance more than "shinier" brass and the sonic supposedly cleans out the insides of brass better. I wish they had a Dillon cv-2001 so I this wouldn't even be a topic.

2. A quick detach scope mount for my mr762 / NF Nsx 2.5-10x32 . Looking for good return to zero and several are listed; haven't seen larues unless someone is willing to trade?

3. A good case prep tool. Need to upgrade from my rcbs rock chucker kit and saw the rcbs one on cabelas but wondering if I can do better.

4. Probably going to get rcbs ar dies in 308 . Surprisingly a lot of the rcbs stuff on cabelas has Rebates.

5. Decapping die.

If anyone does happen to have anything here they would like to trade or sell of I'd be
Game but mainly looking to get opinions so I can spend my money well. Can't trust some store reviews after reading some of them.

I just got into reloading about 18 months ago. I have the Cabelas Model 400 tumbler. Cabela's Model 400 Vibratory Case Tumbler : Cabela's If you don't get a wet tumbler and SS media, this is all you need and it's a great tumbler with great reviews. I was running Walnut and now I am running 50/50 walnet and corn cob media but I honestly don't see any difference in my brass running 50/50. I wouldn't spend over double the money for a Dillon tumbler.
For brass prep, I bought this and I run it on my Dewalt 18v and its fast, works great and doesn't cost a lot. http://www.midwayusa.com/product/394805/lyman-power-chamfer-and-deburring-tool-set

For dies, I use RCBS or Dillon for my AR's and I use Forster Benchrest and Forster Ultra MicroMeter seater dies for match ammo. A lot of people like Redding. I use a cheap Lyman universal decapping die but any brand will do. No need to buy the most expensive on a Universal decapping die.

You should probably get case gauges for whatever calibers you load. I use Wilson case gages.

For precision loads I recommend a few other tools and I am only showing Hornady because its inexpensive. You can get whatever brand you want:
New Hornady Lock N Load Bullet Comparator Basic Set with 6 Inserts B234 | eBay

Amazon.com : Hornady Lock N Load Headspace Gauge Kit : Gunsmithing Tools And Accessories : Sports & Outdoors

Amazon.com : Hornady Lock N Load Ammo Concentricity Gauge : Sports & Outdoors

I am sure others with more experience will have more to add. Good luck and have fun.

Hog wild, just bought both units you mentioned. Not too many reviews but the ones available have convinced me.

I guess I should do a write up! Can't wait until they arrive...

Cabelas tumbler kit is great. Gives you the tumbler, media, and brass/media separator. Hinges are kinds flimsy but it doesn't matter. Works great and I've been using mine for high volume brass prep for the last several years. if or when it goes out i'll get the same for replacement. Good value.

I highly suggest going with higher quality dies like Redding. I started with rcbs and sense buying Redding dies for my Grendel I've switched all my rifle dies to redding and my pistol to dillon.

Couple friends have the case trimmer unit and nothing bad said about it from them and a lotta good stuff as in it really cuts brass prep time down big time! I like the tumbler as it has a timer on it and it's capacity is huge and if I get 1 I will just use the solution that Thumbler's uses ! A little Lemon-u-shine and some dawn detergent and the pin media that comes with the unit! 1000 223 cases is huge for a tumbler! I think you will be very happy with both and when I get thru being optik poor that will be the next 2 tools I buy! My 257 Lazermark needs a new Swarovski as I have a NEAR manufacturing Alpha Mount waiting for it!

Man I hate Friday delivery days as BIG Brown will normally wait till I leave the house so they can deliver it Monday? Also have been getting expensive gun gear that was packed by a third grader ! I mean everything from Swarovski Optiks to dies just floating around with a little newspaper on one side? Box always crunched in and unbelievable stuff was not mangled! Wanting to order a Sinclair front rest but really think that they can mess it up as well as they are so heavy ! YouTube has some tumbler videos with exact recipe for solution but I am sure their way would work as well ! Make sure you clean a cycle of the media to get the lube off the media and not get it on a batch of brass! I hear that stuff is hard to get off the insides of brass !
Had a Swarovski Z5 3.5-18 in this box below and it appeared ok to me but I sent it back for a new one and nobody complained but me?
