I need some help with converting my Ruger SR 762 from a 308 to a 6.5 Creedmoor. I'm wanting to go with a 20"-22" barrel in 6.5 Creedmoor. The problem is the factory gas system setup is a short stroke piston and I don't know if there is a company that makes a 6.5 barrel with the same gas/piston setup length. I would assume that if I changed barrels then I would have to go to a rifle length gas system and also purchase another bolt that is made for a gas tube. Unless there's a 6.5 piston barrel that will work with the factory setup. If anyone can help point me in the right direction to get this going I would appreciate it very much, thanks for any replies.
