Help Shooting a ladder test

I need some help really understanding how to shoot a ladder test.

Here are my questions.
1. How do I setup the target? One dot per load?

`2. What exactly I'm I looking for on the target? Just small groups of the same load?

Lets start with these and go from there.

BTW, I was planning on shooting this at 400y. Loading 175gr SMK with Varget powder.

I'm not typically one to tell someone to use the "search" function, but in this case I think it'd help you understand this alot better.

Do you know the differnce in a OCW and a Ladder test? You might read up on both. It sounds like your confusing the two together which is a common thing.

I do OCW's. I shoot them round robin style. Each load on a different dot.

In both cases your looking for vertical dispertion, or lack of really.

Thanks for the site.

I have to call BS on part 10 of the Inst. Only being able to shoot 18 to 25 rounds before fouling affects groups?? If that was the case we would all be cleaning barrels most of the time.
IMO, this should be done with a fouled barrel.
