finally got a chance to take my 338 lapua out today, and try my new AAC titan out on it. Took the brake off, screwed the suppressor on. As it got close to all the way on, it got fairly tight. Fired a few rounds. I tried to remove the suppressor, it starts to twist off, then it gets tight and then will not turn any more. it is stuck, any ideas??

    1. thread on suppressors become loose after long firing sequences.
    The metal lengthens with heat.

DO NOT continually tighten the suppressor as it loosens from heat. OR when it cools, it can actually stress/stretch the metal. Now you have a fine barrel whose twist of rifling at the muzzle does not match the rest of the barrel, and of course it will never shoot accurately again until chopped off and recrowned.
Many fine AR barrels have been stretched by a guy over tightening a muzzle break so it clocks(indexes to look) right only to have stretched the rifling and ruined the accuracy.

    2. I'd apply Kroil if you have any or other penetrating oil and
-a little- heat and ease it off. Then I'd determine & remedy the tight spot in the threads.

if worse comes to worse, get you a strap wrench... http://doitbest.com/Main.aspx?PageID=64&...mpaign=DATAFEED

might have been a little debris in the threads of the can.make sure everything is nice and clean then put a drop of oil/clp,etc on the barrel threads. try putting it back together, should be smooth, but a c--thair tight.force is not the answer. i would NOT chase the threads with your average tap/die set.you could really f/up a great threading job that way.barrels are threaded with a single point cutting tool on a lathe.not with the tap/die set you would thread common bolts with.

Lesson learned! Have a professional quality gunsmith thread your barrels for a suppressors. Ive had some factory threaded guns before and put cans on them, threading was shitty to say the best, they never wanted to go on right. I have GA Precision thread all my barrels. I have another source local to me for threading barrels but cant name them, they are top secret!

DO NOT run a tap down your suppressor!!! your voiding your warranty with AAC, if you alter it in anyway they will not fix it if it gets damaged.

I had a Titan that was warped and my former gunsmith wanted to re drill and tap it. I told him to jump off a cliff and send it back to AAC. he would have destroyed it. DO NOT mess with it. send it in if there is an issue
