Guys,
I have a little disposable Christmas money and wanted to make my first bulk ammo purchase. I'm looking at getting at least 200 rounds. The brass will be reloaded once shot. I shoot a DPMS SASS (18" barrel).
I'm looking to get 175SMK .308 Match ammo. I see that Southwest Ammo and Copper Creek are both sponsors here. I'd like to know if anyone suggest ones over the other. Both sell the ammo at relatively similar pricing and I know both are held in good regard around here as far as customer service, etc.
I'm really looking for performance opinions.
Copper Creek has some 175 SMK that seems mighty fast: "2,590 fps from 18" barrel". $180 for 200 rounds.
Southwest says 2,650 fps from a 24" barrel (6" longer than my barrel). $211 for 200 rounds.
To add even more confusion to my decision, Southwest sells this "run-n-gun" ammo that is considerably cheaper, but I don't know if it is "less accurate" or not. $161 for 200 rounds.
It all boils down to any assistance being appreciated. I would like opinions anyone who has experience with any of the ammunition above. I don't mind paying Southwest the $211 if it is the best performer of the bunch, but obviously the money difference can be used to buy more boxes.
