Good morning all with so many options out there today it gets overwhelming as you all know. Hoping to get other opinions on the build parts list and advise as i go along. My goal for this build is a all purpose Precision rifle. Hunting out of a deer stand/ Rifle range on the weekends and i may try my hand at some PRS comps in the future.

Remington SS SA Bolt Assembly
Timney Calvin Elite Trigger, or Jewell HVR
REM/AGE 24 in 6.5 Creedmoor 1in8 Twist Muzzle Threaded 5/8x24 REM Sendaro varmit contour
APA Gen 2 Lil Bastard

Now the confusing part im going with a Manners stock EH1A or EH2 in Elite Gap tactical
Bottom metal= needs advice!!!!
Stock options what am i missing?

What other parts would you reccomend?

Stock: MCS-EH1
Right/Left Handed: Right-Handed
Shell: Elite Tactical (100% CF)
Action: Remington 700 S/A
Trigger Guard: Badger M-5 Detach Mag System
Barrel Contour: Remington Factory Sendero/Varmint
Recoil Pad: 1" Pachmayer Decel Pad 1" (Standard)
Selected Hardware:
Flush Cups (2 Left Side)
Pillars 9/16" Installed
Sling Studs (2 Front 1 Rear)
Finish: Elite Tac Gap Molded

Ive played around with the Manners Stock Builder is this a good setup?

If ordering a new Manners, you might consider the mini-chassis option and do away with bottom metal and pillars all together. This way, when you get the stock from Manners, all you do is drop your barreled action in, torque the front action screw to 65 in/lbs then the rear to 45 in/lbs and go shoot. As for accuracy, I've not been able to shoot the difference between either of the bedded or mini-chassis systems I have. Both shoot under 0.5 MOA.

There is always a tough balance to consider when trying to build the "do everything" precision rifle. For hunting, even from a stand, weight can and usually is a factor. You should consider using a medium palma or equivalent barrel profile, no chassis and look at lighter bottom metal, IMO. Then thread the barrel and put a brake or suppressor on it. Bed the stock if needed, it's lighter than an internal chassis. Skip the KMW cheek piece hardware and use a stock pack.

Just some more ideas to consider.

The cf stock is nice, but on a budget, their regular manners stocks are superb. I like the idea of the mini-chasis also. You can't beat their customer service. Shop around for price. I found a great sale price on my T5A. Also, to save money, you could use a stock pack vs. adj. stocks, but I'm in love with my adjustments. Lol. Also, check out the exchange on here. I have purchased some good stuff for a less than new price on here.

A manners elite on a budget build? For a budget I would get a magpul hunter and a bit of acraglass.

Or a Grayboe Renegade stock.

OP, PTG bottom metal is pretty good, so is CDI. I have a 23" Criterion Sendero 6.5 on my rifle, and it's fairly heavy. When I replace it, I'm going to spring for the same barrel and get it fluted. Weight reduction and I like how they look.

I definitely would support going the Manners mini-chassis system, I love mine.. I also get the adjustable cheek piece (Loggerhead) it's worth every penny.. I traveled the Eagle stock-pack road....it's a long one...sweet build-good luck!

You got this response on a hot key? I've seen it all over the place. Let the man play, it looks like it is going to be a great setup for the purpose. I'm with you though, played with an MRAD last weekend for half a day and now I GOTTA have one.

Yeah I have to be honest, I'm kind of disappointed Barrett hasn't offered to send me some free mags or a tshirt or something.

I was looking at about the same thing. Mine is built already though. Its a criterion varmint bedded into an EH1 with the PTG M5 metal. I was actually looking to get a lighter barrel to save a little weight for hunting. Something light palma is what I had in ming, but for an all around, i like something around remington varmint medium palm range.
