I'm looking to see if anyone on here can tell me any other differences between the Vortex Viper gen1 PST 6-24-50 and the HST 6-24-50 other than the illumination. Is the glass the same? I'm trying to figure out why the Viper is cheaper to buy new even with the illumination. Thanks!

My gen 1 HST scopes have always been SFP. Whereas the 2, 6-24 gen 1 PST I have, are both FFP and illuminated. Glass is also much more clear in the FFP pst vs the hst scopes. Just my .02

Pst is glass etched reticle. Hst is wire.

For what it's worth I hated my hst. Turrets would catch and spin on anything.
