Just picked up a 1972ish 94 in 30-30. Got the gun for a fair price due to the fact that a previous owner had engraved his name on the left side of the frame. I have a few questions:

Whats the best book/info out there for working on these? I have never torn one of these apart and heard they could be tricky. I just need to tear it down enough to blast it and squirt it.

I plan on duracoting the gun and need to deal with the engraving. It looks like it was done with one of those dremel vibrating engravers, not terribly deep. Is durafill my best option here? I always media blast guns that I duracoat,is there anything else I should do to the engraving before coating?

Thank You

If you're going to blast it and paint it anyways, it might be better to file/draw file the "engraving" off the frame (depending on depth) and then polish (to get rid of file marks) before you blast it.
