First off, I'm an amateur and just getting into longer range shooting and I'm really interested in getting a Zeiss Conquest HD5 5-25x50 and had a few questions you guys could possibly answer for me before I pull the trigger. This scope will be going on a 6mm Remington and used for mainly deer hunting and target shooting. 500 yards will probably be max on this rifle. I looked at the Zeiss website and pulled up their ballistic calculator, and the bullet drop of the 6mm coincides with the Z7 reticle which is good, but the only option for the scope in the ballistic calulator is the diavari 6-24x56. Is the Z7 reticle close or the same as the Z800 that would come with the Conquest 5-25x50? I just don’t want to get a scope that the actual REAL bullet drop differs from what the reticle is showing where to line up. This scope will probably be used between the 6mm and a .308 Winchester. I know this is a lot of questions, but ANY help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

The Zeiss Rapid-Z reticles will get you close but are by no means calibrated for any particular cartridge. They also work best for a given cartridge at a particular magnification (2nd focal plane so the distance between the hashmarks changes as you zoom in or out).
I'd look for something else with a reticle marked off in mils or moa. If you have to have the HD5, then get the plain cross-hairs and dial up or down. (I've got an old model Conquest and that's my solution.)

he is correct...if you are going to do what you stated you would be better off with reticle that works in Mils or MOA as it much more precise and once you determine your feet per second speed for the round you use you will have all the information you need to take your rounds as far as they are capable of. About the only Bullet Drop Compensator (BDC) I ever use for a rifle are my AR-15 carbines where accuracy is not as paramount and it is always within 400 yards.
