Gents,

Been invited to go shooting on a big private range and need your help in getting the following.

If you know of any clubs near Bentonville, AR that have at least a 600yd range let me know also.

Can someone please send their velocities from an LMT MWS CL 16" using FGM 168gr. Yes, I know they are going to be different but close enough to get me by this weekend.

Many Thanks in advance,

If no one is able to give you true data from their chrono, I'd SWAG it at somewhere around 2500fps (give or take 25fps either way). Depending on how far you're going to be shooting that should get you "close enough" to true your MV based on observed impacts. If you're really going to stretch it, most of us get better results with 175s (not reloading) at the farther distances.

There's a ton of guys shooting the MWS on the forum, so hopefully someone shooting 168s can help you out with hard data.

download some free ballistic software to your phone, shoot a few at 600 and mess with the numbers until the drop matches close enough. then you have the real data for the day. i would say the MV will be a little less than 2500, my bolt gun only gets it to 2700-2800 with a 24" barrel. i think the gut call number is 25 or 40 FPS per inch down to about 20". after that there is not full powder burn anymore so is gets a little strange. i think Tac-ops or rifles only had a little article about this years ago.

this will vary if guys start talking about handloads because factory stuff is not maxed out to start with.

I Highly Recommend you download a APP call IStrelok. Not only does it give you all of the Ballistic Infos you need in the form of a Table it'll also show you the Holdovers on your Scope Reticle based on the Brand and Model you use AND Give You all of the Adjustments in MOA or MRAD at the Same Time. They have Hundreds of Scope Rets on File that you can chose from. It's probably The Best Free Ballistic APP I've ever Seen/Used.

As for the Velocity, I am getting around 2550 for 168 Sierra Match Kings out of my 16" DPMS .308.

Hope this helps. Good Luck and Have Fun out there!

Cheers
