I need some help with my scope.

I bought it from EuroOptic around May of last year, but only got around to using it on my rifle last month.

Around 300 rounds in, the reticle's illumination stopped working.

After calling Zeiss (+18004413005), which directed me towards Cassidian Optronics (+19195569340) - all I'd get is a a recording from Doug Coates (?).

It's been an annoying afternoon trying to get some form of Customer Support.

Any contacts or suggestions you guys are aware of?

I spoke with someone at EuroOptic.com earlier, who said they'd get back to me with the proper contact info for Cassidian.

They also told me to take apart the rheostat assembly and see if anything's been shaken loose.

Not sure if the rheostat's supposed to be a user - serviceable part, so I'm holding off on disassembling it.

I'll try to contact Alex directly, thanks.

Having dealt with a Henny RMA in the past 12 months here's some advice. "Buy some lube and grease up your O-Ring....because they are gonna try to go in Dry!"

Call Zeiss Germany and don't let your self be messed around with.
Never had anything but good experience with them, but I'm European, so speak to the German part of Zeiss.
You have bought a optic for xxxx amounts of dollar, and you do have a 30 year warranty on your product.
If they won't service it then you are entitled to a full refund.

Cassidian is not interested in the civilian market at all.
If only want to keep inside the US try one of the serious vendors around here.

I'd just like to conclude this thread with a note of thanks to the folks at EuroOptic (Corbin, your help was much appreciated); my scope was taken out of Limbo without me incurring any significant downtime.

As of the time I started this thread, Zeiss and Cassidian were absolutely no help regarding the Hensoldt line.

I'm unsure if they've stopped pointing fingers at each other as of today. It was only after several calls that Zeiss finally determined the appropriate contact number for Cassidian. Despite having left multiple voice mails at Cassidian, nobody had the courtesy to return a single one of my calls.

Trivia: Cassidian used to occupy the building now occupied by Nathan Hunt's HuDisCo.com, another Hensoldt importer.

Sorry about the frustration. Hensoldt line distribution was taken away from HuDisCo at the end of 2010. There were no issues prior to this as we had been importing them since late 2008.

After this Carl Zeiss Optronics/Cassidian rented space in our building, and I was part of the company. At this time it was decided by Carl Zeiss AG that commercial warranty would be the responsibility of Carl Zeiss Sports Optics, a completely separate company. This is where things started to go south and they only got worse after the EADS/Cassidian buyout. This is why I ultimately left the company.

Seeing all this really makes me sad after all the work we put into it early on. We'll be glad to answer questions, but have no influence or interaction with the factory anymore.

All the above said, the people at Hensoldt in Wetzlar are really good people trying to work under enormous owning bodies that pass policy without considering the impact to their smaller businesses. I understand that they are working with a new importer now. I have complete confidence in this company and fully expect that things will get better.

If anyone has any questions on any of this please feel free to give us a call. It's all a little difficult to lay out over a post.

Thanks,

Nathan Hunt
