$10 to $12 grand is cheap. Some are out now that go for $20 grand plus.

Can civilians actually buy thermal scopes? I was looking and everyplace I found them for sale said LE only.

Probably not what they are using but the TAM-14 is available for $8995.00. They say it can be used as a scope or a monocular. With a 2x Zoom built in. The higher end units are harder to get, but legal. There was a nice one for sale here on the Hide a while back.

if you are referring to the video, they were using the DPMS

This video has been around for several years. When I first saw it I went to Jager Pro's site and on their store they were selling it for 12k. I don't see it there now, but if you call them they maybe able to point you in the right direction.
