Had a firing tube as well. This thing is awesome. But who ratted him out?

He was chaged with "inadequate storage of ammunition" amongst the other charges. What exactly is more secure about storing ammunition than in an inaccessible underground hidden bunker that used a hydraulic arm to move the floor?
I feel a little outdone leaving mine in cardboard boxes in my cupholder and open spam cans on my back floorboards next to the belt feds now...

    But decisively more American.

It I remember correctly, Western Australia was the penal colony where the Irish rebels were forcibly relocated by the Brits in the early 1800s.

The Irish prisoners were not welcome in Eastern Australia as they were too clanish and mean spirited not getting along with others.

That find was about a year ago….. just the suppressors could get him jail time, almost impossible to legally own one here. Same for the body armour.

because the room wasn’t rated as a vault, every firearm there was “stored illegally “ - need to be in an approved safe or vault…. The ammo cannot be kept in the same safe as the firearms, but a locked container (even a plastic one) would have made it fine.

our gun laws here are beyond retarded…..oh in wa any component of ammo is considered to “be” ammo, even spent brass. You can only possess ammo for a gun you are licensed for.

Wasn't Australia basically colonized by Britain emptying the country's prisons and sending the convicts to Australia ?
Because it was settled by convicts, they wanted freedom and very few laws and rules? What the fk has happened to that country?

Not only were convicts transported to Australia, but thousands of falsely accused and convicted of petty crimes such as stealing bread etc.

Thousands of citizens were unemployed and the government/King needed bodies to populate Australia.

You think the woke Aussies (Colonizers) would do the right thing and return the land to the Aboriginal people

This picture is why there was a underground storage.
It was called the buy back program.
How exactly can that be true if they are using the tax payers money.
He was right to hide them, they also prove him right when they steal them from him.

    It's the law, right?
To quote some on here, "he broke the law and gets what he deserves".

Picture is worth a thousand words at least...

    Poor bastards.

Do you know who/how he was caught?

The amount of hardware buried and sealed up in pvc pipes filled with grease would be astounding :)

to show the effectiveness of our dumbass laws.... re the 96 "buyback" was also when some states also introduced mandatory registration (some states already had it). QLD was on stste where ther was no registration, and in the months between the laws being passed and coming into force, at least 2 40 foot shipping containers of skk/sks rifles cleared customs in qld. at the same point in time almost all hardware stores/builders suppliers saw a huge demand in 6 inch water pipe (but only in 4 foot lengths or so and a pair of end caps.....

the "buyback" spent half a billion dollars to confiscate certain rifles from known law abiding people, it did not target illegal guns.... once the last registered semi-auto was destroyed they declared the program a success. There is zero verifiable evidence that these new laws saved a single life or prevented a single crime. the anti gun zealots will show you a graph of declining gun deaths over time since the 96 bans.... but extend that list out to the left and it becomes clear that gun deaths have been declining at roughly the same rate since the 70's - so sfa to do with the new laws....

of course, lots of crims did hand in unregistered weaponry - most likeley either non functional or "dirty" from criminal use and they didnt want to be caught with it later, but hand it in no questions asked and walk out with cash.

airsoft is banned, and gel blasters are considered to be real firearms.....

it's been estimated by several differing sources (no, I dont have a link) that there are now more illicit guns in australia now than there were total guns before the "buyback" (versions 1 and 2) - yet the ant gun crowd do 2 things - they parade our "gold standard gun laws" to every country they can, trying to sell it as a great success. They also whinge and whine to anyone they think might listen that the laws need tightening further. 0 guns is their stated goal.

OMG he had an "intricate workbench." The horror of it all. /s

Do you think he defaulted on his "protection" payments to the contractors that built it.
Sure that's possible. But my first guess is that he could not stop himself from sharing with like minded friends who subsequently had a cool story and big mouths.

Big deal. Those guns will never be dug up and it makes no difference if they were handed in.
They used to get found all the time, almost all are rusted beyond ever being functional again.

When a friend owned a shop he would get one a week most of the time.

Exactly. There is a reason “secrets” are secret.

Yes I'd go as far to say that anyone who owned guns prior to the buyback either stashed something or knew someone that did, almost thirty years later and no one gives a fuck now.

It's easy to take the easy option so .gov only needs to give an out, which the bulk of people will take and instead of looking at mass civil disobedience, there is only a few diehards left which .gov can fuck.

This was a real consideration during the start of covid, potentially give up your guns or be the nail that gets hammered because the bulk of owners are cowards.

Long story short for any Americans reading. Never give up shit, the guns that you can own are as much a symbol of your rights as they are tools and symbols do not work when they are hidden underground.

Jist to clarify this "case". It was years ago, and publicised about a year ago.

Thr body armor was a weighted training vest. Thr suppressor was deactivated and has a certifiate. The police KNEW about his "bunker", as they had inspected it multiple times, it wasnt a secret, he even had approval for it.

The only real charge was the tunnel which broke council bylaws.

Then this stunt, which broke WA law got them in hot water. McGowan (the premier, think "govenor") stepped down for personal reasons, ...

Police minister is fighting corruption charges, and i heard he is also being sued over a firearms matter.

    The plot embiggens.

The crown paid attention after getting their asses handed to them by one of their other colonies for undesirables...

Rule 1: Keep a tight grip on which weapons (and how many) you allow the undesirables to own.

We believe we're up against a marxist agenda. I'm of the opinion that the agenda is candy coated to appear as marxist... Promise the stupid sheep a marxist utopia and they'll line up in droves and fight to make it a reality. After the opposition is defeated they'll take all the dipshits who believed they were fighting to create a marxist world order and eliminate them. Just like Hitler did with the brown shirts.

The real plan is a feudal world order with all of the rich elites setting themselves up as god kings... Schwab, Soros, Gates, and the rest of their ilk don't give a fuck about social justice or Marxian equality. They just need dupes to get rid of us so they can rule.

It's the same types of assholes committing the oldest sins in the newest ways.

    Anyway, back to Australia...

    Mike

Thanks for the link. Looks like their budget for the 50 only ran to an Armalite?🤣 The high speed cats in WA prolly had a good laugh….

It would appear the ex Premier did not like his chances for the future, after introduction of calibre restrictions in WA ( nothing over 300 WM anymore?) and the absurd native title laws he green lit. Way to kill mineral exploration, and consequently most of the tax dollars/revenue that funds the state…

Heard rumours of WA being used as a test state for new firearm laws, including restricting the number of firearms allowed to be registered to one licensee. No hard evidence, but some folks have mentioned this in passing.

Yeah they are gonna try. Doesnt matter what the general public say or want, it seems to be perpetual corruption and punishing law abiding citizens.
