Gunsmithing High Standard Riot 12 gauge..

Need lil info.. i have A High Standard 12 ga. "RIOT" shot gun.. or thats what it says on the barrel.. but the shells want come out of the magazine and eject into the bolt an chamber.. Anyone have any info or might know what the problem is?? YOU can mash the magazine keepers and the shell will come out of the magazine. But the shell pick up will not pick up the shell an put it in the chamber?? Any help would be appreciated
