Gents,

I am issued a mk.17, I have few 17S', and do like them with some caveats. I don't want to cloud the discussion, as I am known for my strong opinions. Whether your tab is long, or short, you have a scroll, or trident, would you be willing to entertain this question?

When it comes to the HK 417 vs the Mk.17

#1 which do you prefer?

#2 do you hate either of these rifles?..if so why

#3 have you seen either of these rifles demonstrate a specific issue?

#4 thank you for your time and efforts.

I've seen a certain member of the forum say numerous times that he hates the 17 and would rather have a 417. As to the reasons why, you would have to ask him. I'm not going to out him, but if you asked this question in the Mil/LEO section, he might chime up.

"I'm (contraction) issued a MK17"... stop, stop, stop. This thread was delivered stillborn. Your use of "issued" carries a lot of weight. You'd be better off having your credentials vetted and as Victory said posting this in the LEO/Military Only forum. Unless of course there aren't any credentials to vet. Just sayin'.

You'll want to send whatever it is you have to Lowlight. That being said, how is it that you have a DD214 while still on active duty? I'd always thought it was representative of your release or discharge from active duty.

I have multiple stints of Active Service 92-96, 98-2000, 2001-2004, and couple of 2-6 month events since then. It wont be hard for the BTDT's to figure out who I am and what unit.

I sent a PM to lowlight, thanks for the directions.
