Hogdon superformance powder?

I saw it in Shoothing Times and I guess it's not supposed to come out until 2011. I was wondering if anybody has got their hands on it before it comes out and had a chance to play with it. I've heard good things about the hornady superformance ammo so I'm guessing it probably pretty good stuff

It's called Reloder-17, lol.

I saw a guy here, post pics of some of their SuperFormance factory ammo fired brass and the primers all had gas leaks around them, so who knows?

Be careful what you ask for.

Not yet. Last I spoke to Chris Hodgdon it wasn't coming out until next year.

Il hve to try some reloader 17. I like tinkering around with different powders. When I first started reloading, all I could get my hands on was 4064. Then I finally got varget and loved it... Then I played with 8208 for my 155.5s and still had better luck with my tried a true varget. Sounds like r17 will be my next lol or superformance or whatever it's called

RL17 might be a touch slow for light bullets like a 155. If you are shooting 185s it should be great. Montana Marine is having some really interesting results under 210s and 220s. Just a heads up that it might not make the velocity difference you had intended with lighter projos.

If I can get Hodgden consistency with RL17 performance, it would be a great thing.

I shoot 155.5 bergers with varget and 175 smks too. I'll play with the RL17 with my 175s
