Home made brake for my DPMS 308

So I am working half days now and went to the machine shop and made a brake for my Mk12 project rifle, I already have a DPMS 308 24 inch rifle so I making one in 18 inch with MK12 style barrel, I looked at the AK74 brake and made one but shorter and modified, now this is still rough but you get the Idea, its light and should be very effective with the large baffle. Short and light is what I was going for and I thinks its going to work just fine.

rifle is still in the part phase looking for full length hand guard soon

That looks pretty nice. What does the extra metal that's past the wider section towards the end of the brake do (the baffle?)? I just don't see why you wouldn't end it after the wider section of the brake, especially if you were looking for compactness, unless it serves a purpose I do not see..

hey you can get that handguard either from Rguns, JSE Surplus or i think there was one in the for sale area here just a few weeks ago. looks good
