As listed on Brownells:

100-018-879WB
30 Caliber (0.308") 155gr Hollow Point Boat Tail 2,000/Box
Mfr Part: 3039B

100-018-882WB
30 Caliber (0.308") 178gr Hollow Point Boat Tail 1,600/Box
Mfr Part: 30715B

Are these bullets meant to approximate the A-maxes as far as load data is concerned?

Meant to approximate? No, its a different bullet. Hence the different name.
As far as load data similarity between the hpbt and the amax it should be close like most any similar weight bullet would be.

My load for the 178 HPBT is the same as the 178 A Max. The HPBT has a better BC than the A max. I don't think it was discontinued like the a max.

Thanks.

Haven't been able to find good source material as far as load tables are concerned regarding these bullets specifically - and I don't have Hornady's manual.

I'll probably base my loads on A - maxes of similar weights, but I really wanted to cross - reference published recommendations against QuickLOAD like I usually do.

Here.

Please ignore the powders / charge weights (I was fiddling with some .300 Winchester Magnum loads) - I just wanted to illustrate that QuickLOAD has the rounds, but I'll feel safer seeing "a page out of Hornady's book."

I was like WTF, then I read the last line. You could never get enough RL22 in there to hurt anything anyway. LOL.

The Hornady book has all the 178 and 180s listed with same powder charges. If there is something specific off the page in the Hornady manuel you want I can get it real quick.

Only if you have free time...

...wouldn't want to impose.

Would you mind posting some information from the .223 Remington pages, too?

22 Caliber (0.224") 53gr Hollow Point 2250

22 Caliber (0.224") 55gr FMJ with Cannelure 2267

22 Caliber (.224") 62gr FMJ with Cannelure 22760

30 Caliber (0.308") 155gr Hollow Point Boat Tail 3039

30 Caliber (0.308") 178gr Hollow Point Boat Tail 30715

Thanks!

Roughly - done screenshots with the max / min loads of their recommended powders would be fine.

First is .308 178-180g
Second is 223 52-53g
