Has anyone used it or tried it? I'm trying to decide if I want this or get the RCBS Trim Mate Case Prep Center. Lots of good reviews on the RCBS. It has 5 spinning stations and the Hornady only has 3. I figure the most important steps for me are champfer, deburr, and primer pocket cleaning. If get the Hornady I could change out small or large primer pocket cleaner. But with the RCBS I wouldn't have to, pluse I get a couple more stations if I want. I guess they're roughly the same price so getting the RCBS is the way to go.

Comments on either of the two products?

Re: Hornady Case Prep Trio vs RCBS Case Prep Center

I tried both and bought the RCBS.

The Hornady was good, and i was originally going to get it as well as the L-N-L press, mostly cause the reloading classes i took, used Horandy. so i figure di learned on it, might as well get it. But then i decided to go the Dillon route, 550B, but thats a different story. The Hornady was good, but i didnt like that damn handle u had to put each round it. For me, its quicker to just hold the brass in my hand/fingers and go through each station. I also like how the RCBS staiton was a good size and it kept all the little pieces of brass/carbon in a confined area so clean up was easy.

I will say though, the 1st 1 i got, at Cabelas, worked for about 50 rounds. maybe 100. either way i took it bakc the same day. the motor just quit. haha. I took it back, got another 1 and ive had it for close to a year and put 5k'ish rounds through it so far. (i have the reg 110v version).

I have the Lyman case prep center. It came with a full complement of tooling. The horizontal working surface collects all of the brass shavings and makes cleanup neat and easy. Very happy with it.
