Hornady ELD-Ms in 223AI

Has anyone tried the new ELD-M 80gn or 75gn in 223 AI? If so what were the results you saw? IE Accuracy and Speeds? New 223AI tube looking at what bullets to run after fire forming. Starting with 75 and 80 AMAXs for fire forming.

Waiting for some 75 ELD-Ms now myself for my .223. If I get them in I will let you know how they do in a straight .223.

Sounds good, I have a lot of brass to fire form, so I'll keep hamming with the AMaxs for now. It's a ragged tear with my fire forming load.

I am currently loading the 80 ELD-M with Varget in my 223 AI. I was loading the 80 Amax previously and the same load ended up working for the 80 ELD-M. The rifle was built by LRI and has a 20" Bartlein 1:7.7 and pushes them at 2950fps from fireformed brass. Accuracy from this combo is consistently under .5moa with almost no recoil. One of my favorite rifles to shoot.

Mine was built on a 26in Hawk Hill M24 1:8. Still working on fire forming now. How to get some more of that done this week.

Have shot piles of the 75 ELD's in a herd of 223AI's and they are simply fantastic. I like them at 3100fps+ in a 21".

What powder are you running?
