I am a new reloader and about to load some Hornady GMX 165 grain in .308 for a Remington 700 SPS Tactical and would like a little guidance as to a good recipe to start with. I have IMR 4320 and Varget on hand, but can get a different powder if I need to. Anyone have experience with this projectile in this weapon? Trying to find a hunting load for this that I can make a couple batches of while I play with formulas to really get it dialed in.

Varget should be fine. I think it is one of the best 308 powders out there. That is an all copper bullet so I would start low and work up. Id start around 41 to 42 grains and shoot a few to make sure pressure is ok than max should be around 45-45.5 grains.
