if i had 1k or under to spend on a scope i think i have it narrowed down to 2 scopes the horus and the vortex.

i like the horus cause of all the hold overs but with all the raves abou the pst comming out it looks intresting

the horus and its software seem like a sure win combo.

iam looking for a scope that is rugged because i shoot an hk msg90 yet i also want somthing that tracts well has good clear glass and has some magnification to it also

i have though about the falcon 5-25 because i really enjoy my 10x42

of these two which would you get and why ? do you have another suggestion ? if so let me hear it

Re: horus raptor vs vortex viper pst

My dad has a Horus on his GAP, he likes it. It holds zero, glass is okay, its a nice scope. Me on the other hand I have a PST on backorder. The Horus reticle is nice, but I like to use the turret system more. The Horus reticle is a little to busy for my eyes.

Hope this helped,

Rhett

Great point!

Being that "rugged" is one of your criterion, I would instantly eliminate the Horus and the Falcon. The PST is unproven, but with the warranty, it sounds like they mean buisness.

Re: horus raptor vs vortex viper pst

I would not put NF in the class of Horus or the PST. NF is the strongest scope I have ever seen and the company stands behind their product.

Dont get me wrong. I love Vortex and would buy a Vortex over a Horus any day of the week. I think Vortex is phenominal, but I dont know if a Vortex could suffer the same punishment that some guys have done to their NF's and stiff function as well. I know Vortex will fix it, but I am pretty confident that NF will keep on trucking a little longer than a Vortex. Opinion only, dont beat me up!!!

I love the Horus reticle, but you have to buy their software to use it and only the Falcon scope comes with a parallax adjustment, which is kind of a bid deal to me. Since parallax is distortion and distortion will cause a miss. To get a Horus you have to add the price of the software, and if you get a Falcon you are already above the price of the new highly covetted PST.

If you have the dough, get a NF. Even if you have the dough you should really look at the PST, and use the saved money for ammo!

Good Luck,
Nate

Re: horus raptor vs vortex viper pst

think i might bite on the pst rifle scope, like the guy above said

buy the pst and save the rest of the money for ammo. the pst looks solid sounds solid the vids on youtube make it solid and the zerostop at no extra cost sounds like a winner.

now which retical and why ?

That's a big NEGATIVE!

Three Horus Vision scopes come with side parallax adjustment.

1. Horus Vision Falcon: 5-20x50 Illuminated Rifle Scope $1500

2. Horus Vision Raptor: 4-16x50 Long Range Non-Illuminated Scope $840

3. Horus Vision Predator: 8-26x50 SMOA Non-Illuminated Varmint Scope $760

I've owned all three.
