Rifle Scopes How critical is parallax

My buddy has the opportunity to buy a VXIII 4.5-14X50 for $360. It's brand new with the duplex reticle.....the only thing is that it's not the long range version meaning it doesn't have the parallax adjustment turret. He's new to long range and so it would be nice to spend the money once.....what would you recommend? Go ahead and buy it or keep savin'?

To get any helpful answers it would be best to list his needs and expectations for a scope. Like any other "tool" it is best to know what you need and/or expect it to do and then select one that will get the job done.

There are many scopes out there for around the same price that have parallax that are just as good or if not better.
Falcon and Super Sniper to name a couple.

He will be using it for hunting. Shooting big game from 100 yards to 600+ yards. He has a gift card for the place that sells them and doesn't sell Falcon or Super Sniper.

If it is a good buy, I would buy it. It will do everything you listed well for him.
