I have a g3 and was thinking of getting a second. Europtic has the g2 non e version for 900 nib. I know its apples and oranges and I like the g3 a lot but it would save me a chunk of cash.
I've looked through a g2 a long time ago but don't remember much other than it was nice. How does the glass compare to the g3? I've been pretty impressed with the g3 eyebox on 6x for offhand and am wondering how the g2 compares at max magnification. I'll be picking up a thermal clip-on in the spring so how well it would work with that is a factor as well.
Host would be an old-school cheese grater mrp 16" with medium (heavy) ss barrel. It's a pig and mostly fired off a bipod so I don't think 4oz would be that noticeable. Wears a tr25 green triangle right now which I like a lot but I'm looking for something a bit more precise
