How much clearance do you like in your AICS mags?

I need some help picking the right MDT mag (with or without the binder plate, prefer with it). I'm wanting to pick up some 12rd MDT AICS mags and I have a concern about the internal clearances. MDT lists the max bullet COAL of 2.870" and my current load for that rifle is 2.862". Now normally I like at least .015" of clearance so my rounds don't bind up, and this is cutting it close. Will these rounds work in the mags with the binder plates? Hopefully you guys that have some of these mags can point me one direction or the other. Thank you!

Why do you prefer the binder plate?
So I currently run 2 different AICS mags in matches. One with and one without a binder plate. I find the one without the binder plate will allow that first bullet to get up under the feed ramp and I have to pull it back often times times because it gets wedged prior to me closing the bolt on the stage. Just added insurance I guess

I run my 308 with 178 ELD-M at 2.865 with no issues feeding in my AI-AE. They are right up to front but feed fine. The 10 round mag is slightly longer then the 5 round.
Cool, I'm thinking i'll be good. I had a buddy measure one of his MDT mags and he got 2.890" as the inside dimensions. So I believe what MDT are trying to state is that the max OAL should be 2.870" that way you still have that .020" of clearance for movement. Thanks for the insight
