krieger barrel....was wondering, if the blank is a total of 29" can it be made to 28" or is it reccomended to take 2" off the barrel

1" should work just fine. We try to cut 1.25" over every barrel but it should work like that for ya.

I usually take an inch off the muzzle but leave the chamber end alone as you will take the belled bore area out when you create counterbore and chamber.
However, if you do this, you must ensure you get a true reading for concentricity by using a long reach dti or pin guage.
Works for me anyway if I want a longer than standard tube length.
