More specifically, I have an EH1 that has the 3" picatinny rail up front. If I clamp the rail into an RRS Anvil 30 will the stock support itself without cracking or pulling the blind nuts out? This particular rifle is 11 pounds loaded. Thanks
The stock isn’t going to break, but the balance point is going to be way way aft of that pic rail. Will your ball head hold the rear of your rifle up? Will the tripod stay upright in that configuration? The people at Manners would be able to tell you if you’re going to pull the rail out.
Answered my own question. Received an RRS arca plate today and mounted it to my rifle. The stock gives a little bit definitely not going to break.
I have a smaller leofoto tripod I bought for my spotting scope while backpack hunting and wanted a way to mount my rifle to it if needed. Looks like it’ll work good for it’s purpose. I’d like to try the Anvil 30 head one of these days.
