Gunsmithing How to bed once piece scope base?

I want to bed my scope base. Do i jut clean top of ation real good. Apply devcon o bottom of base screw down turning each screw a little at a time until i reach desired torque. While devcon is wet wipe devcon down around base (with wet qtip)then let dry. Does this sound correct or even close? Help with this please??/

The tutorial posted above is pretty comprehensive. Just to clarify in response to the OP you must apply release agent to the receiver - not just clean it, and in order to start clean up, the q tips need to be soaked in WD40 - not just wet!

How bout not bed it at all?

Lap that bugger in so that it's 1:1 METAL/METAL contact.

Not hard, just a little patience is all that's required.

I've been lapping my bases as well. It doesn't take that long, but it will mess up the receiver's finish. That doesn't bother me since I've been Duracoating everything anyway.
