How to clean feed tube?

Re: How to clean feed tube?

I've used a spray cleaner to clean tubes before. They normally have enough pressure to blow out big debris and evaporate quickly. After the spray I usually run a patch through with a light coat of CLP (doesn't take much).

edit, I just realized you said the tube curves. The spray should still work but maybe a bore snake would work better than a rod/patch. It looked to me like a straight tube that's angled toward the chamber. How much does it curve?

Re: How to clean feed tube?

The tube is straight through the sheek, then curves up through the finger grips, and then flattens out again at the action. A bore snake should do the job. Didn't think about that for something other than a bore. Thanks!

Re: How to clean feed tube?

My experience with this rimfire design prompts me to advise against disturbing the feed tube. I had fits trying to get it to feed right after reassembly. There's something going on with the parts relationships that totally eluded me.

I think this is one of those situation where the expression "if it ain't broke, don't go around trying to fix it" goes double.

If it feeds, that's all you need.
