Now that I've got some time running my PVS 30 long range at night, I'm annoyed that I can't see my bubble level to ensure my rifle isn't canted. What's the best way to make sure I don't cant the rifle in the dark?

Something like the long range arms send it level with the lights? Are the lights so bright they might blind me when night shooting?

Thanks

Keychain flashlight?

What are you going to do about reading the wind? At ranges >400yda (where you might in theory worry about cant) you are going to have issues with reading the wind without perpiheal visibility. Just curious how this plays out in the real world...

In any event. IIRC you can buy levels for nightime use with tritium illumination from accuracy first and presumably other sources.

I'm finding shooting conditions really improve after dark.... wind dies down and I'm not seeing crazy mirage. I was shooting a full size ipsc last night at 740 yds holding dead center. In the event I miss I'm usually able to see splash and correct from there.

The RRS anvil head has an illuminated level in it... Either that or my tripod is haunted

How about some glow in the dark tape, paint, etc to backlight your current level? Sunlight or a bright pocket light will charge it up

I write info on how in the dark masking tape so I can read it in the dark

how far are you shooting? i tiny bit of cant isn't going to make a huge difference unless you're shooting pretty far.

I had the same question a while back,
night bubble
