How to Paint Stock

I modded my B&C M40 stock by cutting filing & buliding up with Devcon to get the same grip as my Manners T2A. Also added a PTG flush mount military style BDM (for AICS mags w/ up to a 3.775 COAL).

I need to paint the stock now, as it looks like a stock that has some bondo slapped on top of it. I liked the original dark gray w/ like gray streaking on top, but that will probably be beyond my pay grade. I guess that I can just do the grip area that I modified and either fade it to the rest of the stock or mask of a distinct grip area.

If someone has some advice (and instructions on how to do this) I would appreciate the help!
