i see people talking about bedding their scopes. does it improve accuracy? never heard of it until SH....please fill me in...is it usefull or a bunch of bull?
I think that if you invest the time you'd spend in bedding the scope, firing a few more rounds, accuracy will have bigger advantages.
But that's just me.
Lapping or bedding is done to releive tension / pressures of the rings being slightly out of alignment. It also usually keeps from putting "ring marks" on your scope tube.
Bedding a scope will not offer huge gains...biggest purpose is to align the rings better to eliminate marks.Now, if the rings are really misaligned then that is another matter...
