i duracoated the stock of my Howa 1500 HB wich rides in a BC stock.
i also modified the BC stock a bit by grinding it down, as i didnt like the fat forend too much, and also skim bedded it
i have also a new heavy varmint contour barrel on order that will be 26" and chambered for 6,5X47 lapua.
action and barrel will get duracoated later when its all put together i think in dark earth brown

Nice. My HB Howa 1500 308 is waiting for a stock right now, just can't make up my mind on stock yet... How is that B&C performing for you? I want to do the same to the forend flat edges as you did because I also don't like the sharp lines.

Who are you going to have chamber your new barrel?

to ansewer your question:
i like the BC for the money, but it was no drop in, i had to bed it, and grinding the forend down left me with quite severe pits and fibers from the inner stock glassfiber material , that i had to fill with epoxy prior to duracoating.
id take a ready painted manners stock if i had to do it again, bed it and be done with it.

Re: howa 1500 projekt

jester thanks for the advice.
what i did after i took the foto, wich was taken with a flash , as i found it to be too shiny aswell, was lightly rough the surface up with some grit 500 paper. that took off the edges where the color layers enden and a good part of the shine, and made it feel a bit less rubbery.
