Howa 1500 target master

So ive been shopping around for my next savage .308 as im a fim believer in there rifles, untill i came across a howa 1500 target master, ive read some of the reviews on them and understand that these are built on weatherby actions, correct? Ive looked at one in the store and its really smooth and has a crisp trigger at 2.5lbs, this sees really tempting to give howa a try, how many of you have actually owned one of these and how do they compair to a savage or a 700?

This is just going to be a 300-500yrd paper punching rig and i dont really plan to do any custom work to it other than the usuals, good stock and glass.. Ect.

Actually, it's the other way around. The Weatherby Vanguards are built on Howa actions.
The Howa rifles are excellent buys. They normally shoot quite well and are a great value for the price.

I agree. If the rifle itself suits your needs then by all means purchase it. The Howa action suffers from "N.I.H. (Not Invented Here) Syndrome". Meaning, it would be considerably more popular if built in the US and not Japan.

They're very good quality and they're an alternative to the boringly common Remington and Savage rifles.
