How good are Howa actions? Can they hold their own with like a Savage or Remington Action? I could sure use some help with this, cause I dont know shit about them.
Howa's are generally machine to tighter specs than Remington or Savage. Weatherby buys Howa 1500 barreled actions for their Vanguard rifles. With a decent stock it should shoot very well out of the box.
Howa's are great. Mine is very smooth. There are not a lot of after market parts for the long actions, but you can find some on the short actions. I would recommend the Howa's to anyone.
Well, I purposely am starting a build from scratch based on a long action Howa. For a donor action, the Howa at 360 bucks was the best route for me to take. Still waiting on my T4a then off to the smith it will go. Can't wait for the day when Pete offers a mag system for the long action.
Yup, mine was 350 on sale, which actully brought it closer to 370 with tax. I tried to find a Remington long action magnum to start on but couldn't come up with one for less than 550, so I gave the Howa a shot.
