Howa short action .540 bolt face

Hello all,
I have a Howa m1500 short action in 6.5 creed. I’m getting to the point where I want to re-barrel the gun and change calibers. I want to move up to 300 wsm. I’m struggling to find a replacement bolt with the proper bolt face and correct length. I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find one or the proper way to go about this project? I’ve got my barrel picked out but I don’t want to purchase it until I’ve got a plan for the bolt.

You could always find a gunsmith who can open the bolt face. Accurate Rifles and Restorations comes to mind. He did a 6.8 western on a short action Howa on his channel.

Howa don’t usually offer parts like that, you will likely have to have it opened up by a smith or scavenge one off someone else’s action.
I say to buy a second action.

I’d do this. Buy a barreled action and sell the barrel and you’d be close or right at the cost of opening the bolt face up.
